30 of the Most Influential Female Fundsters In 2026

Fundsters make up nearly one-third of the winners on a new list recognizing powerful women on Wall Street.

Earlier this month, Reshma Kapadia at Barron's revealed the investing publication's seventh annual list of the 100 Most Influential Women In U.S. Finance. The publication's team considered internal and external nominations of U.S.-based executives from across the financial services spectrum, as well as relevant public servants, policy makers, and CFOs. The winners on the list on not numbered or otherwise ranked.

18 fund firms are represented on the 2026 list. (Several defined contribution industry insiders are also recognized on the list this time, as noted by our sister publication 401kWire.)

The biggest fund firm winner is Vanguard, with five honorees:
  • Amma Boateng, managing director of financial service services;
  • Sara Devereux, global head of the fixed income group and chief investment officer of Vanguard Capital Management;
  • Sharon Hill, head of global and income active equity (a 2026 newcomer to the list);
  • Michelle Louie, head of trading and portfolio management for Vanguard Capital Management; and
  • Joanna Rotenberg, managing director of personal wealth (a 2026 newcomer to the list).

  • Fidelity Investments has four winners this time. They are:
  • Cynthia Lo Bessette, head of digital asset management;
  • Sharon Brovelli, president of workplace investing (a 2026 newcomer to the list);
  • Robin Foley, head of fixed income; and
  • Abby Johnson, chairman and CEO.

  • BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, Guggenheim, Pimco, and T. Rowe Price have two winners each this time. Those winners are:
  • Kim DeDominicis, portfolio manager for target-date funds at T. Rowe (a 2026 newcomer to the list);
  • Sonal Desai, CIO of fixed income at Franklin;
  • Ann Holcomb, director of research, North America at T. Rowe;
  • Jenny Johnson, president and CEO of Franklin;
  • Jaime Magyera, head of U.S. wealth advisory at BlackRock (a 2026 newcomer to the list);
  • Sonali Pier, managing director, PM at Pimco;
  • Jessica Tan, head of Americas, global product solutions at BlackRock (a 2026 newcomer to the list);
  • Anne Walsh, CIO at Guggenheim; and
  • Qi Wang, CIO of portfolio implementation at Pimco.

  • The other winning fundsters this year include:
  • Hilda Applbaum, PM at Capital Group (home of American Funds) (a 2026 newcomer to the list);
  • Kate Burke, CEO of Allspring Global Investments (a 2026 newcomer to the list);
  • Mellody Hobson, president and co-CEO of Ariel Investments;
  • Yie-Hsin Hung, president and CEO of SSIM;
  • Jean Hynes, CEO and managing partner of Wellington Management;
  • Susan Kasser, head of private debt at Neuberger Berman;
  • Sara Ketterer, CEO of Causeway Capital Management;
  • Katie Koch, president and CEO of TCW Group;
  • Saira Malik, CIO of Nuveen;
  • Cathy Marcus, co-head and global chief operating officer of real estate at PGIM; and
  • Cathie Wood, founder, CEO, and CIO of Ark Investment Management.
