The JP Morgan Mid-Cap Value Fund (FLMVX) is now open to retail investors. The minimum investment is $2,500.

Netfolio claims that in the first quarter this year 79% of its 240 Personal Funds outperformed the S&P 500.

MyDiscountBroker, according to The Wall Street Journal, had admitted that its $12 million ad campaign has not worked.

The Journal also suggests that there is a movement toward consolidation in the venture capital industry as Octane Capital Management has decided not to make such investments in the future and give back assets to its own investors.

Total mutual fund assets dropped 3.8 percent in March, to $6.6 trillion, according to the ICI's industry survey.
