News summary by MFWire's editors

MFS has chosen BladeLogic to provide a suite of data center automation solutions to streamline configuration management and compliance assurance processes across all of its server and application environments. MFS can now quickly audit its server environments, provide detailed reports to auditors and managers, and immediately remediate any servers not in compliance.

BladeLogic, Inc. (Nasdaq: BLOG), a leading provider of next-generation data center automation software, today announced that MFS, a premier global money management firm, has selected BladeLogic’s award-winning suite of data center automation solutions to streamline configuration management and compliance assurance processes across all of its server and application environments.

MFS selected BladeLogic to automate the management of its extensive server environment, which includes a very large number of Windows, Linux, Solaris and AIX servers. Using BladeLogic, MFS has created sophisticated security and regulatory compliance policies to meet its patch management and internal security requirements. MFS can now quickly audit its server environments, provide detailed reports to auditors and managers, and immediately remediate any servers not in compliance. In addition, MFS is now able to perform a wide range of configuration management processes on their servers and applications, such as discovery and inventory management, full stack provisioning and configuration disaster recovery. By implementing BladeLogic, MFS is ensuring that its server and application environments are consistently compliant and operationally efficient.

“In order to more efficiently manage our complex IT infrastructure, we needed a software solution that would allow us to automate day-to-day data center tasks, such as server provisioning and patch management, as well as implement repeatable compliance assurance processes,” said Michael Greene, CTO, MFS. “BladeLogic was the only solution we evaluated that provided a sophisticated closed-loop approach to data center automation by integrating server provisioning with compliance measurement and remediation. Based on the success we have already experienced with BladeLogic, we are excited and confident that BladeLogic will enable us to operate our data center more efficiently while significantly reducing the cost per server managed.”

“MFS has built a solid reputation for using innovative technology to optimize its business operations,” said Dev Ittycheria, president & CEO, BladeLogic. “By selecting BladeLogic, MFS can now automate the most critical part of its IT infrastructure, the production data center. Through BladeLogic’s extensive data center automation capabilities, MFS can address all of its server operations processes, from configuration management to compliance assurance, using one solution. The end results are greater IT service availability and lower operations costs.”
